Cascade Ruby Gold Flint Corn

Super early and productive 8-12 row flint corn bred by Carole Deppe. This corn is simply delicious. We grind it into cornmeal that makes the best cornbread and polenta we have tried. Cobs are a single colour in shades of red, red-brown, dark red, orange-gold, maple-gold, gold and yellow and each colour has its own unique flavour. Plants are vigorous and often have multiple stalks. Ears are long and narrow which helps them dry down fast for short season areas and have great husk coverage which keeps moisture and birds out. Carole says “I bred this corn to be the ultimate survival crop, the variety and crop you would choose if you could have only one variety to get you through good times and bad.” OSSI pledged.
