Beautiful purple flowers are magnets for pollinators. Butterflies, bees and hummingbirds feed on the pollen and nectar in mid to late summer and small birds flock to eat seedheads in fall. This Ontario native wildflower is found in full sun and tolerates drought and poor soils. In rich garden soil it can reach 2 metres and is striking at the back of a perennial border or in a wild flower patch.
