Melons
Cucumis melo | Pkt. $3.00 | approx. 25 seeds
Oka
80 days. This delicious melon was bred by Father Athanase of the Trappist Monastery at La Trappe, Quebec around 1912. He crossed the green fleshed Montreal Market melon with a Banana melon. The result is an early, sweet, orange-fleshed melon with a netted rind. It almost disappeared but was rediscovered growing on Bizard Island in Quebec and we are pleased to be able to offer it.
French Charentais
75 days. Sweet, fragrant, orange fleshed melons with smooth slate blue/green skin. These are true cantaloupe melons and they will ripen even in cooler areas. Each small melon is the perfect size for two servings. They smell as good as they taste and are a hit at farm markets.
