Apple

110 days. Shaped like a large apple, these hard-shelled gourds dry beautifully. Use them for decoration, make beautiful bowls or birdhouses. Fruits average 2-3 kg and have a lovely mottled bright green skin that dries to shades of tan and brown. This is the earliest hard-shelled gourd we've grown.

Birdhouse/Bottle Gourd

125 days. This large gourd can be dried and used to make beautiful birdhouses or bottles. The hourglass shaped fruit reach 25 - 30 cm. and consist of two chambers connected by a narrow neck. The dried gourds were traditionnaly used to carry water. We use them as birdhouses and gourd artists often use them to make snowmen figures as the shape is perfect for this.
